"I'm locked out and something is wrong"
Three things to know, in order:
- The emergency unlock is always there. On your computer's lock screen, hold the emergency combination (macOS: ⌃⌥⌘E · Windows: Ctrl+Alt+E) for ten seconds and confirm. Every plan includes a budget of these — the app never leaves you without a way out.
- The wait always works. Starting the wait on the lock screen unlocks your computer after the configured delay with no workout and no code — by design, on every plan, in every mode.
- Emergency calling is never touched, on any setting, in any mode. On Android the dialer and safety apps are excluded from every shield by code; on iOS every shielded app has a one-tap release on its own shield screen, and the OS's emergency calling sits outside anything the app can reach.
If a lock ever behaves outside those rules, that's the most serious bug we can have — email with the word LOCKED in the subject and we'll treat it accordingly.
Subscription questions
- Purchases, refunds, and cancellation are handled by the store you bought through: App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID settings, Play subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. We can't see or modify your payment details.
- Pro not showing after you paid? Sign into the same CtrlAltMove account on the device, then use Restore purchases on the paywall or in Settings.
- Lapsing never locks you harder: if a subscription ends, Pro verification options pause (your configuration is kept) and the free step-verification path carries your gates. Nothing you saved is deleted.
Health data and permissions
The app reads heart rate, steps, and pace from Apple Health / Health Connect only with your permission, judges your workout rule on the device, and doesn't upload the readings. If verification shows "no data": check that the health permission is granted in system settings, that your tracker's companion app is syncing (the Home banner will tell you when wrist data is running behind), or pair a Bluetooth heart-rate sensor in Settings for live readings.
Deleting your data
- Location history: Settings → delete anytime (it prunes itself after 14 days regardless).
- Your whole account: Settings → Account → Delete account. This is self-serve and immediate — it removes your account records, subscription linkage, and sign-in identity. Store billing records remain with Apple/Google under their policies.
Privacy
The full policy lives at ctrlaltmove.com/privacy. The in-app version of the same facts is Settings → "What we collect."
